Over the past 40 years, Niagara College has become a leader in education and training at one of the most enterprising colleges in Canada. College graduates are essential in today's knowledge economy.

More than 50,000 students have celebrated their graduation and joined the ranks of the College's alumni community over the past four decades. Successful Niagara grads are enjoying their careers and contributing to the economic health and social fibre of their communities around the world.

Master Plan for the next 40 years

Following the College’s 40th Anniversary in 2007-08, the Master Plan will transform the Welland Campus and enhance the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus to prepare for the next 40 years.

Niagara College is a catalyst in the transitioning of Niagara’s economy. Campus plans and investments are designed to help the Niagara region meet the challenges that come with a changing economy and an urgent need for highly skilled workers.

The plan will replace and expand aging buildings with improved facilities and new technology to create more than 1,000 new spaces in programs, where labour is in high demand in Niagara: skilled trades and technology, health, community services, hospitality, culinary and tourism.

The College will be positioned to better succeed in the hyper-competitive postsecondary market, where learner expectations are high and continue to increase.

There will also be increased access to retraining, academic upgrading and apprentice programs to address worker dislocation and skills shortages.
