Funding for $50 Million Master Plan

Partnership of College, Students, Community and Government

Funding for the Master Plan is from three sources: about one third from the College’s savings over the past 10 years, one third from the Provincial Government, and one third in support through the Building Futures Campaign.

The Niagara College Foundation has taken up the challenge of raising the community portion of the funds required to support the Master Plan, as well as meet the annual needs for equipment and learning resources, and scholarships and bursaries.

The campaign goal is $16.5 million with a $10 million lead gift already secured from students through annual fees committed by the Student Administrative Council (SAC). That leaves $6.5 million to be raised from the community through the Building Futures Campaign.

Equipment and Learning Resources

One key to Niagara College’s success is its ongoing investment in equipment and learning resources to prepare students for the real world of work. The Building Futures Campaign is securing donations to fund books, subscriptions to online resources and other items for the Library and Learning Commons, as well as equipment for some program areas that require investment to meet the needs of students and employers.

Endowment for Scholarships and Bursaries

One of the most important services that contribute to student success is the Scholarship and Bursary program, made possible through the generous contributions to the Niagara College Foundation. The College has established endowed funds, in which the principle remains untouched and the interest earned is used to fund annual scholarships and bursaries. The Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS) program greatly enhances the impact of donations by matching every $1.00 donated at the estimated rate of $1.50
